Delta Central Senate bye-election: – We are solidly behind you, Orogun people assures Osawota

THE people of Orogun Kingdom have assured Chief A. K Osawota that, they are solidly behind him as he indicates interest for Delta Central Senatorial district senate bye-election coming up soon.

They made their position known in a forum organized in Orogun Kingdom by Chief A. K Osawota to inform the people of his intent to run for the senate and therefore needs their blessing.

In his addres, Osawota stated that his decision to vie for the senatorial position was born out of his desire to attract development to the Orogun Kingdom and the Urhobo nation at large.

He stated that he carried everyone along when he served as secretary to DESOPADEC and reiterated that he is fit to occupy the senatorial position as a result of the requisite  experience and administrative skill he posseses.

His words: “I have done it before if you send me there, I will do it again” And that my coming home today was to inform all of you that I am running for the senate seat of Delta Central Senatorial district that is made vacant due to the death of Senator Ewherido .

In their responses  Evangelist Eruteya Monday, Chief Princess C. Akaine, the Ominimini Vanguard Women Orogun Ward 1, Chief Stephen Omotu aka Equator, Sunny Iyede, among others who spoke on behalf of the Orogun people said, Chief A. K. Osawota is supported because he is the man the cap fits just as they appealed to him to carry everybody along  as he did when he was the secretary of DESOPADEC.

Others who spoke in support of Chief A. K Osawota included Hon. Paul Okogu, former adviser to Chief A. K Osawota in DESOPADEC, Ogoha God’spower special adviser to Host Communities on Oil & Gas in Nigeria, Delta State Chapter among others.

In a brief interview with Chief A. K Osawota re-affirmed his determination to represent the Delta Central in the Senate as he is poised to bring the divided of democracy to the grassroots. He said, what he came to do was not declaration but consultation with his people and once he has been endorsed by them, he will declares openly as charity begins at home.

On his chances of winning as senator representing Delta Central, the legal luminary said he believes in the collectivity support of the people and with their support I shall get there, he declared.
